“I’d love for it to happen. How amazing would it be to see Tom Baker?! Can you imagine just seeing him back in the scarf, man? That would be amazing! So cool! And Paul McGann is a great actor, man, and a great Doctor. I say bring back Chris and Dave, too! How many Doctors can we get into one story?! Imagine if there were five or six of us in one ep and we could all just look at each other and judge each other.”—Matt Smith, on a multi-Doctor reunion for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who (via mewiet)
Day 01: Which regeneration of The Doctor would you most want to meet and why?
Eleven! He’s far and away my favorite (which is pretty damn obvious if you look at my blog), but he also honestly seems like he’d be the most fun. I mean, he’s a cosmic 9 year old that likes to wear silly hats.
You better believe I want to run through time and space with someone who thinks that jumping out of a cake at someone’s stag night is a good idea.
Life Less Ordinary by Carbon Leaf is one of my favorite songs (from one of my favorite bands), and thanks to the Sherlock fandom I honestly can’t hear it without thinking of Sherlock and John anymore. Specifically for me it’s the perfect song about John and how he feels about his crazy life with Sherlock. It’s a gorgeous song, and it’s pretty much headcanon for me now.
Cause I need to know some stuff about the plot but not spoilers and stuff.
So take a minute (if you are watching this show) and tell me something about it! :)
I couldn’t reply, so here’s a reblog instead.
Doctor Who is about a time-traveler named the Doctor. He’s 900 (or so) years old and is from the planet Gallifrey. He travels around in the TARDIS, which is a time machine that’s stuck looking like a big blue police box. The TARDIS is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside (we don’t really know how big it is, but let’s just say it’s big on the inside) and it can travel anywhere in time and space. The Doctor usually travels around with a companion, and they go off and have adventures and save people on different planets and in different times.
That’s pretty much what you need to know!
Well thank you :D One more thing, could you name me one of two major characters of the show? I have heard of two characters, one named Sophie and one named Any I think.
And what’s with the old Doctor and the new Doctor? Does that mean that the new show is a remake of the old one?
No problem! The names of characters that you’ve heard are probably companions - Amy is one of the current companions and some of the others you might have heard are Rose, Martha, or Donna. Not sure who Sophie is, I don’t think she’s been a character. :/
The deal with the different Doctors is that they’re actually all the same Doctor. I know that sounds kind of odd, but it’s the way that the Doctor’s people (the Time Lords) work. When the Doctor is dying, every cell in his body regenerates and he changes the way he looks entirely. That’s why you’ve seen different Doctors - there have been 11 different incarnations of the Doctor by now, but they’re all essentially the same person.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooh, I see, so you’re saying the Doctor died 10 times!
Wow, all that regenerate thing is so cool! :P You got me, I’m interested :P:P
Mission complete. xP
Thanks for the information!!!! :)
Yay I’m so glad I could convince you! Getting people to watch Doctor Who is pretty much one of my favorite things. Hope you enjoy it! :)
